Spring cleaning with Arm & Hammer baking soda

I have always used Arm & Hammer baking soda for cooking, but I had rarely used it for cleaning. Until I received a free sample thanks to Smiley 360. I tried it for a little spring cleaning this past week and was blown away. First we made our own laundry detergent with arm & hammer baking soda and their baking soda wash along with a few other ingredients. But wow it did wonders at deodorizing my husband gym cloths and taking out stains! Next I used it with a mixture of soap and water to deodorize my couch of the cat smell. After a few coats you couldn't smell it anymore. I was impressed with all the different used baking soda had and how easy it is to clean with it. Here is what you will need to make 2 gallons of Laundry Detergent:
  • Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda
  • Arm And Hammer Baking Soda (the big 4lb box)
  • 20 Mule Team Borax
  • Oxi Clean 3lb
  • 3 or 4 bars Fels Naptha Laundry Soap
  • 2 containers Downy UnStopables or other scent boosters
  • garbage bag (or a garbage bag-lined 5 gallon bucket)
  • food processor or cheese grater
  • container to store your soap
  • measuring scoop

Grate the Fels Naptha Laundry Soap and then mix all ingredients together and stir. For regular sized laundry use 2 Tablespoons of detergent!

SweeTarts new soft and chew ropes

I have a defiant sweet tooth and there is nothing better they trying new candy! Today I opened the package of SweeTarts new soft and chew ropes (that I received for free) and took a big inhale. Smelled great and my mouth started to salivate. Its just to bad they didn't taste as great as they smelled. I took one bite and the out layer of licorice tasted like straight plastic. However once I bit down and got to the cherry filling an explosion of tasty SweeTart flavor filled my mouth. The texture of the rope was very pleasing and perfectly chew. So I rated this candy a 3 out of 5 stars. It has potential but the outside layer needs some serious help. For info head to this link: http://h5.sml360.com/-/rw23

Kroger 16 in store brands

Thanks to Bzzagent I was able to explore all the Kroger brands for free! There are 16 total! I was very please with the Kroger brands. They were well prices, easy to find and nice packaging. The brand that really surprised me the most was the P$$T brownies! I have had lots of boxed brownies and I am never very impressed so i often make my own from scratch. Well I took these brownies to our family dinner and everyone really like them. Perfect balance of cake vs fudge texture and a good chocolate flavor. They are not quite as good as my homemade brownies but they are pretty darn close. Second I was very surprised with the quality and taste of the bacon. It was nice an thick and more meat then fat! I want not impressed with the Kroger Brand Lime Tortillas. They were really hard and dried out when I got them in the mail. It might just been due to shipping so I will have to try them fresh from the store sometime. But the flavor was very unique. Doesn't really work with plain cheese quesadillas but with other strong flavors like fajitas it mixes well with. Overall I was very please with the Kroger brands.
